Project Noyer
A Collector’s Home
Unlike many of our projects, where the priority is often to optimise storage or carve out additional rooms, this renovation presented a different challenge. For a couple with an extensive art collection, the brief was to transform a 110 m², three-bedroom apartment into a spacious, single bedroom home but with expansive living and working spaces.
Our design concept restructured the apartment into two distinct layers. At its heart lies a central functional core, conceived as an architectural “container” housing all the essential systems: bathroom, separate WC, walk-in closet, and extensive storage for books and records. This compact nucleus is clad in dark walnut veneer, giving warmth and a sense of permanence to the core of the home.
Around this central element, the remainder of the apartment was treated as a blank white envelope—a restrained backdrop carefully designed to showcase the couple’s art collection. The simplicity of the architectural canvas enhances the impact of each piece, allowing the interiors to function as both living space and gallery.
The result is a home that merges daily life with the experience of art, where personal collections and functional needs coexist seamlessly.
