Project Simplicité
Elegantly Simple Contrasts Transform a Family Apartment on Avenue des Ternes
This project is the renovation of a Haussmannian apartment on Avenue des Ternes, in Paris’ 17th arrondissement. The luminous space, blessed with expansive views, required only a light-handed intervention to enhance its historic character while integrating the minimal, Californian-inspired aesthetic of its new owners.
The design focuses on soft colours, comfort, and a laid-back ambiance, striking a balance between Parisian heritage and contemporary restraint. Subtle neutrals—pale walls, grey-toned furniture, and black detailing throughout—form the calm backdrop of the living areas.
Against this understated palette, a single bold gesture transforms the atmosphere: the velvety deep blue alcoves framing the fireplace.
This refined burst of colour adds both freshness and joy, elevating the apartment’s serene simplicity into a more dynamic, yet still elegant, composition.
The result is a home where historic Haussmannian features and Californian minimalism meet in a dialogue of contrasts—at once timeless, luminous, and deeply personal.
